SUMMARY:Rockin' Readers Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Rocking Readers is a Fellowship ministry that began six years ago as a partnership with Cityview Elementary School.  People will serve by reading to and/or with PreK\, Kindergarten and 2nd grade students the first or second Friday of each month beginning November 6\, 2026 through May 7\, 2027.  Volunteers may sign up to read for whatever month they are available to do so.  There is no minimum or maximum number of times you can volunteer. \n\nTo support this service opportunity\, we are excited to offer a hour long orientation on Monday\, October 5\, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at North Regional Library.  The orientation will include the following:\n\n\n\nA brief description of the Rocking Readers ministry and its goals\nTips for selecting books to read to the children you will be serving\nStrategies for engaging the children in the text\n\nThe children’s librarian from North Regional Library will be providing the tips and strategies.  Both current and new volunteers will benefit from this orientation.  In addition\, sign up sheets for the monthly Friday sessions will be available at the Orientation for attendees to sign up if they are ready to.  This Orientation is optional.\n\n\n\nClick here to register.
