“The MLK Awards honor individuals who embody the vision, values, and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. By promoting equity, justice, inclusion, and community empowerment, the recipients of this award demonstrate a steadfast commitment to advancing the ideals that Dr. King dedicated his life to championing. These awards recognize those who have not only advocated for diversity, equity, and inclusion in theory but have also taken meaningful action to create lasting impact in the Minneapolis community and beyond.”

We are thrilled to share that because of her dedication and commitment to community, our own Laverne McCartney Knighton is a recipient of this award!
