My Faith Journey

As I take a retrospective look at my life, my faith journey began, without my being aware of it, with the departure of my mother and father at different times during the early stages of my life. God took a situation which brought much sadness in my path and made it into my story of God’s redeeming love. This was truly a testimony to the fact that God turns our deepest scars into our brightest stars.

Family

God has blessed me with a wife who has truly been the love of my life and my soul mate. I am married to Dr. Allyson Brotherson, a native of the island of Trinidad and Tobago. We are the proud parents of  a son whose name is Amiri Brotherson. I am thankful that both my wife and my son are actively involved in the life of our church.

Favorite Bible Verse

Jeremiah 29: 11-14 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Hobbies

My favorite hobby is gardening. I enjoy growing hybrid tea roses and a variety of lilies. I also enjoy growing vegetables. This is the legacy of my cousin who raised me. She was an avid gardener.

I also enjoy travelling. This is a hobby which I share with my wife and son. Another favorite past time of mine is walking for exercise, and reading. I am an avid reader who enjoys reading biographies and social commentaries.
