My Faith Journey
I began my faith journey at a very young age, attending church with my grandmother and mother. I was baptized as a young adult at Zion Baptist church and was a member of the teen and youth choir for several years. After joining FMBC over 20 years ago, I have served formally and informally in various capacities in the church, beginning my faith journey formally as part of the HR committee. Last year, God led me to a higher calling to serve as a Trustee for FMBC and Co-chair the Human Resources Committee. Family
I have been married for 32 years and have two beautiful millennials aged 24 and 27 as well as a granddaughter I adore. It has been especially rewarding to watch my granddaughter grow in Christ at the age of 3 and for me to instrumental in guiding her faith and spiritual journey.
Favorite Bible Verse
My favorite bible verse is: Psalms 100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Hobbies
I am an avid sports fan and previously played women’s basketball at the University of Minnesota. My favorite hobbies are watching both basketball and football at any level.
