My Faith Journey
I was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in New Orleans, LA until my departure in 2000. I was active in Sunday School, youth ministry, and our incomparable Summer Day Camp. I was baptized as a baby, confirmed at age twelve, and served as an acolyte through my teen years. After attending St. Olaf College, I joined FMBC in 2005.
Family
I come from a family of 6: Lula Isom Dawolo (mother), Richard Dawolo (father), 2 sisters, and 1 brother. I am married to Jawad Towns, Sr. and I am a mother of two boys: Jawad, Jr. and Kenie Kpanai.
Favorite Bible Verse
“And let us…not giv[e] up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)
To me, this scripture embodies the purpose and mission of coming to church. As a body of believers, we come together every week to encourage each other on our Christian journeys.
Hobbies
I teach as a career and I teach in my spare time…teaching is my ministry!
