There are many benefits of chair yoga, which include:
- Increased flexibility: Flexibility is essential in performing most of the daily tasks. …
- Muscle strength: Although gradual, chair yoga can help build muscle strength with each pose. …
- Better balance, coordination, and proprioception: Proprioception is the awareness of your body’s movements in space.
- Mindfulness Meditation: An element of this yoga class focusing on our thoughts, can reduce anxiety and depression, improve sleep, lower blood bressure, and perhaps even help to cope with pain.
- Biblical scripture: the basis for all we do as believers, is a reminder of the charge we have to take care of our minds, bodies and souls.
This class, taught by Deacon Earle Phillips, meets the 2nd Saturday of each month in Room 15 of the CFF. Please feel free to join. All are welcome!
Brought to you by the Fellowship Minneapolis Senior Ministry, co-chaired by Deacon Clem Reid and Sis. Wanda Malden.
