Standing yoga poses can improve balance, strength, flexibility and can also help with posture and reduce the risk of falls. Other benefits:
Strength: Standing poses engage the core, back, and legs.
Balance: Standing poses improve coordination, balance, and proprioception.
Posture: Standing poses align the spine and strengthen back muscles.
Flexibility: Standing poses improve flexibility in the hips, shoulders, and hamstrings.
Focus: Balancing poses require mental focus, which can improve concentration and mindfulness.
Biblical scripture is the basis for all we do as believers, therefore it is incorporated into this session as a reminder of the charge we have to take care of our minds, bodies and souls.
Gentle Standing & Mat Yoga, brought to you by the Health, Wellness, Fitness & Faith Ministry, is taught by Deacon Earle Phillips. The class meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month in the CFF.
