Interfaith Series: Criminal Justice
October 29 @ 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Greater Twin Cities United Way is excited to launch our Interfaith Series, a series of convenings aimed at fostering understanding, collaboration, and bridge-building among faith communities and broader social services communities of practice. Our first event focuses on criminal justice and incarceration, and the role that faith communities play in addressing the moral, ethical, and systemic challenges to restorative reform.
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Featuring Sheena Meade, CEO of The Clean Slate Initiative and one of the nation’s leading experts on legal system reform, in conversation with Chanda Smith Baker, this event offers a rare opportunity to witness a live recording of award-winning podcast Conversations with Chanda. Two panel discussions, moderated by Olivia Jefferson, Vice President of Social Impact & Executive Director at Best Buy, will provide further opportunities for deep dialogue and tangible action. Panelists include Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs, Rev. Elijah L. McDavid III, Imam Asad Zaman, Rabbi Marcia Zimmerman, Michael A. Goze, Justin Terrell, PJ Hubbard, and Earl Miller.
We will also share lunch and close with a social hour, during which we can engage with and learn from each other, strengthening the connective tissue that supports our region. This event is free and open to the public, and we encourage you to share it widely with your networks.
